2-Man Best Ball:
The 2-Man Best Ball team championship was played on Saturday June 28th.
1st prize goes to anyone who 2-putted the very difficult 18th green.
Keith Putz carried Kris Stromberg to a 2-shot victory over the team of Brad Barnett and Jim Etheridge.
Putz shot a 71 on his own ball that would have been good enough for a tie-2nd, Stromberg somehow managed to help him on three holes to secure the win. All Stromberg had to do was not shank one off Keith's head and sign the scorecard. Heck, Keith even drove the golf cart. It was a masterful round of golf.
Stewart McFarlane meet Dan Dummer. They first met Saturday morning and used the lack of familiarity to their advantage in shooting a field low net 58 and a two stroke victory.
The green members tees were used for the second tournament with some surprising outcomes.
The 272 yard 9th hole yielded zero birdies for the 54 man field.
Thanks to a curious pin placement, the 515 yard par 5 18th hole saw more than one double digit score posted.
Side Games Report:
Thanks to a few non-entrants, you know who you are, you guys with the net 1’s on your scorecard, there were only 4 net skins and 5 gross skins. No birdies on #9 and skin winning birdies on #10 and #11.
Chris Baker got himself an eagle on #16 winning both a gross and net skin.
11 dueces rounded out the fun for the side games.
Thanks to all that played and a special shout-out to Randy Shaw, Darrin Fossum and Brian Catlin for making this a fun and successful 2-Man Best Ball.
